Where and When
Each Spanish & Surf
school is different. Each has its own unique feel and way
about it. Depending on your level of surfing, or the season, each
has a better time of year to attend. Some are small, others are
bigger. Some are located in or near cities, others in tiny villages.

Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a favourite destination for
many. Warm people and a warm climate, mixed with some beautiful
nature results in an excellent choice.
the school is
located in the popular town of Quepos
(5,000) , right on the doorstep of the Famous Parque Nacional Manuel
Antonio, minutes from the beaches of the South Pacific Coast!
The beach breaks
here are excellent for those beginner/intermediate surfers and
especially those who want to learn.
Ecuador
Manta is a resort city of 250,000 people. This is the largest place
any of our schools is located at. It is ideal for those seeking all
the amenities and excitement a city of this size can offer. A small
country (about the size of New Zealand) it is packed with
different experiences. If you can't decide whether to climb
snowcapped mountains, ride some incredible waves, slosh through
fantastic jungles spying on monkeys - have no fear as in
Ecuador you can change your world as fast as you change your mind!
The weather and surfing is great all year round here in Ecuador -
with the best waves happening November to June. The surfing is
sublime - the best in South America - in fact that good that the
world surfing games were held right on our beach in 2004!
El
Salvador
Is the most undeveloped of the four locations. El Salvador is
definitely still natural, and has retained its culture with
little outside influence. The surfing here is world-class, generally
4 foot plus and powerful, and suited mainly for Intermediate and
advanced surfers. The surf happens all year round in El Salvador,
the water is always warm, and the weather is good to! You wont find
many tourists here in El Salvador - and that is its charm. With the
countries natural beauty wait another 10 years and El Salvador will
be bowled over with tourists - now is the time to come! La Libertad
is our small town/village option. We find that it is often more
mature travelled students that come to El Salvador. College Credits
are often available at El Salvador making it a good study aboard
option.
Mexico
The mere name associates itself with development - but Puerto still
has retained its Mexican charm. This is not a Tourist resort - but
still a traditional large town (80,000). The dry season is November to May,
the best time for big surf is June to October (although there is
good surfing all year round). This location has arguably (although
Mexico and El Salvador would argue differently!) the
best surf of the four schools. The Famous Mexican pipeline is on the
schools doorstep. But this is not for everyone (in fact only for the
advanced surfer). Yet there is other great options for the beginner
to Intermediate surfer. In fact, there is ALWAYS surf in Puerto!
Spain
San Sebastian is the small city (170,000) option. Here there are bars, restaurants,
plenty of museums and lots to do - and good surfing. The city
surrounds the beach- that's how close the surf is. This is a
cosmopolitan city that is surprisingly cultured. An excellent choice
for those wanting a mainland Spanish experience .... and did I
mention the food that the area is famous for! There is very
good surfing right here on site, and less than an hour away is Mandaka,
considered the best surfing in Europe! Surfing is from
June to end of September, and wetties are recommended. Our Spanish
option offers US University credits that can be transferred and is
therefore an excellent Study abroad option.
