Learn Spanish

Because we have surfing ... we are often asked how serious we are at teaching Spanish! The old adage of the relaxed surfer dude comes to mind! I can assure you that we are dedicated to teaching Spanish! In fact - all our Study Spanish aboard schools started off as purely Spanish language schools that provided first rate Spanish. Each was located next to a world class surf break - and a natural progression happened!

Out teachers are trained professionals. They are dedicated to teaching their native tongue - and want you to learn Spanish. Some surf - but most don't. They are first and foremost teachers of Spanish.

All our Spanish language schools  have multi levels of Spanish. From beginner to advanced. The larger schools have up to 10 levels!  You will have a small assessment on your first day to determine what level you are at - and placed in the best class with the best teacher to suit your needs. All our schools also have one on one teaching options for you. Most of our schools have class options (El Salvador and Mexico can not guarantee class options due to their small size - if there are no other students of your ability there at the time you will be receive one on one instead). All our class sizes are small - to give you as much attention and let you progress as fast as possible.

Our Spanish Language schools have similar, but also slightly different teaching methodologies. The reason is simple - teaching to the strengths of the staff and culture of the individual school. All schools have an immersion philosophy. The best way for a student to learn Spanish, is to become immersed as much as possible in the society and the local cultures. There is a really practical approach to learning Spanish, which requires a wide use of the language in the classes, and application of what has been learnt to  practical situations. You will soon incorporate new structures into your speech and grammar,  continually adding new vocabulary.

Many extra activities are offered, often in the Spanish language, to help you learn and become immersed. For the same reason all our schools recommend homestays. This is the best way to become immersed and really involved at a practical level in a language. The best way to practise and reinforce what you have learnt. However, all our Spanish language schools offer other alternatives for those not wanting a homestay - including the innovative 'pseudo' homestay offered in Puerto Mexico, as well as student apartments and hotels options.
