How do I get there?
San
Sebastian is located between Madrid and Paris, in the
Atlantic coast at 20 km. from the French border. It's a very well
communicated city: By train: 6 hours away from Paris in TGV,
6 hours away from Madrid in Talgo. In coach: 5 hours away
from Madrid, 6 from Barcelona, 1 hour from Bilbao. Regular buses
from the main European cities. Airports: The airport of
Bilbao

maintains regular flights low cost flights with London, Frankfurt,
Paris, Brussels, Milan, Geneva etc. At the small airport of San
Sebastián
(www.aena.es)
5 daily flights arrive from Madrid and 4 from Barcelona. The French
airport of Biarritz
(www.biarritz.aeroport.fr)
for flights to Paris, London-Stanstead. When you book, we can give
you advice as to some of the best ways to come from your country.
Will I be meet at the
airport?
Our school
can organize transfers from most airports etc, so you don’t need to
worry about how to get to San Sebastian. A school transfer will
often save the student's money (late arrivals, early departures),
in addition to the comfort it always brings. There is charges for
airport pick ups.
Can I bring my board?
If you have one - of course! Its always better to have your own
plank between your toes!
I've never surfed before, and have no equipment ..
No problem. We have good instructors that will teach you on easy
waves. You will be up and surfing in no time! We supply all
equipment including surf board, wetsuit etc.
What if I am a beginner at Spanish... advanced ...?
Again no problem! We have 8 levels of Spanish from beginner to
advanced. We will find the best level for you.
What’s the best time of year to go?
For beginner and intermediate surfing ... beyond doubt its June to September. This is the
time the water is warmest., the beach atmosphere is great, and San
Sebastian is humming. for the hard core surfer - bigger waves can
happen late October to Late March. If you want a quieter
time, to learn Spanish, then we suggest February to May, or October
to December.
What else is there to do?
San Sebastian is great. There is always lots to do. There is
kite surfing, lots of pubs and nightlife. canoeing,
sailing, tennis, hang-gliding and rock climbing. The school
organizes sport activities such as football and volleyball games,
horse-rides, bike rides, excursions to the mountains.
In winter there is awesome skiing the Pyrenees. There is always lots
to do in San Sebastian ... this is why its a favourite playground
for the Spanish and tourists alike!
