The School is located at Puerto Escondido (simply called 'Puerto' by the locals) on the Pacific Coast of Oaxaca, Mexico, just meters above and overlooking the world famous surfing beach. Puerto Escondido is best known for the Mexican Pipeline. The surf here is famous, varying from small to medium November to April and big and powerful the rest of the year. There are plenty of spots for beginners though! Puerto is a seaside town with about 60,000 inhabitants. The surfing here is famous, and the breaks are world-class. A perfect location to learn Spanish and have a surfing vacation The surfing suits the surfers with experience. As a world renown break - it does attract surfers all over the world. There is also a variety of other breaks, including one for beginners. The school also offers surfing lessons and packages for beginners through to experienced surfers. WE OFFER: Our School is a small teachers' cooperative designed to give personal attention to students interested in learning Spanish. We offer small group and private lessons for students of all levels, from the very beginner to the most advanced. Study Spanish aboard and come join us at our small friendly Spanish language school in Puerto, where you can still experience real Mexico, where the surf is never flat and there is always a wave breaking for everyone to ride Prices: Packages: 1 week Beginner Surf and Spanish $320, with home stay $490 includes: 4 hours/day Spanish lessons for 5 days, one intro land surf lesson and one intro water lesson (add $50 for board rental) Classes Only: 15 hours private per week $180, 20 hours private per week $240 20 hours small group classes per week $160 Surf board Rental: $10/day, $50/week or $150/month Homestays, including food and housing, cost approximately $150 U.S. a week, depending on the family, the time of year and the exchange rate. We also offer a "pseudo homestay" option where students stay at a family-owned small "hotel" with a host family that lives in-house. Students have their own room with a private bath. No meals are provided only rooms and plenty of conversation. However, there are plenty of restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the pseudo homestay. During most of the year the price is approximately $10 U.S. a night for a cabana & $13 for a room.
