Study Spanish and Surf in Spain! Cadiz
Cadiz, in the sunny and warm south of Spain, is just steeped in history. Known to be the oldest continuously inhabited city in the Western World, its origins go back over 3000 years to 1100 B.C. ! And most interesting of all, the best waves to be had are in October to May. The rest of Europe may be freezing, but the in South of Spain the sun still shines, the waves grow, and the surfers catch the good waves. Cadiz is a vibrant Spanish city of about 300,000. Yet, it is really almost two cities. There is a modern centre with about half the population, and then you travel through the high historical city walls into the old city. It is like stepping back in time. This is the real Spain. Still relatively untouched by tourism, you can just feel Spanish culture and history oozing from the narrow streets, and many hundred year old houses. Our school is located right in the heart of old historic Cadiz, and only 50 metres from the sea, and a short walk from the surfing beach. In fact 'old Cadiz' is almost completely surrounded by the sea. It is almost like the 3000 years of history and the influence of the sea has not changed. Every Calle seems to finish at the sea, or overlooking one of the magnificent Castillos (Castles) that dominate Cadiz. If you want to experience the real Spain, away from the mass tourism of the Costa de Sol, Cadiz is the right location from you.
