Surf El Salvador !
El Salvador is a new surfing frontier with dozens of pristine spots scattered across its 320km of Pacific Ocean coastline. El Salvador will catch any and all ground swells generated from the Southern hemisphere and is extremely consistent, with ride able waves of 4 foot or bigger over 300 days of the year. The coastline is renowned for its right hand cobblestone and sand point breaks that rival the best in the world. El Salvador has everything from world class hollow waves, to classic points, to fun and rippable beach breaks. Our School is located at La Libertad the main surf destination for El Salvador. Here there is a classic 1000 yard ride into the beach! It is a pointbreak with a barrelling wave. As the main destination, and also the closet surf beach to the Capitol, El Salvador, the beach can get crowed on weekends. However, there are eight other beach and point breaks within 20 km (12 miles)! Other great nearby surf spots include: El Concihealio is a fun sandy bottom spot. Huge barrels on left sections make it a fun place to be for Goofy footers... Normally no crowds and sand on the bottom make it worthwhile alternative to La Libertad. This spot is for Intermediate or Experts since it's a fast wave, very fast ! K59 is a private beach area with limited access. It offers powerful right waves with great tubes and fast sections. This point was unknown for many years, and still a secret spot for some people here. You will have the surf at K59 mostly for yourself, or accompanied by friendly locals. There is also K61 a right point break which is only 500 mts. away from K59 and offers great waves with long rides and barrels. The coastal scenery seen from the water at K59 and K61 is breathtaking. K59 area is surrounded by beautiful mountains and ancient forest. Zonte, Pamcarcito, Zunsal, Bocana, La Paz and San Blas all offer great beach or point breaks - and normally all but deserted!
Really, between the towns of Playas and Manta, there are about 15 better known breaks.
Santa Loca: Only 12 Km. (8
miles) south of Manta is a tiny fishing village call Santa Loca, here you
can find Ecuador's longest wave. It is a point break with a very, very long
lefthander that starts with a soft take-off, then peels into a bay. When you
finish your ride from point A to point B, you sure will have spaghetti legs.
Normally you can ride this wave for over 800 m. Suspiro: One of Ecuador's best wave. A point break that breaks over a rock-reef sanded bottom with a full barreling first section, top to bottom barrels and is located in one of Ecuador's most beautiful areas, a real paradise in earth. Very hard to get to and it is called Ecuador’s best kept secret. Pipelines: A world class beach break, again top to bottom barrels in a deserted beach with no other surfers around than the persons that you are traveling with. Montanita: A very good world class right-hander with some heavy barrels at low tides.
