Ecuador Surfing!
Ecuador is a fantastic country
and worth a visit whether you are surfing or not. But if you are looking at
thispage then it is the surfing that you'll be interested in.
We are located at
Manta and Manta is truly a world class surfing destination It is the Mecca
for surfing in South America! Its that good that it was the host for the
WORLD SURFING GAMES in 2004!
El Rompecoco, famous for a
great beach break ,is located in the heart of a city port Manta. It is
perfect on both sides, very intense and has tubes big enough to put your VW
inside of them!
Playa El Murcielago is situated outside Manta and is a right hand beach
break that is hollow (i.e. a pipeline) fast and powerful. This is an
excellent surf spot for intermediate to advanced surfers!
This spot breaks all year long, sometimes there are no waves but you can
still have fun on small days because it's a very powerful wave. It breaks
better with northern swells but also with any other small, medium, or big
swell Other surf spots in Ecuador! Between the towns of Playas and Manta, there are about 15 better known breaks.
Santa Loca: Only 12 Km. (8
miles) south of Manta is a tiny fishing village call Santa Loca. Here you
can find Ecuador's longest wave. It is a point break with a very long
lefthander that starts with a soft take-off, then peels into a bay. When you
finish your ride from point A to point B, you sure will have rubber legs.
Normally you can ride this wave for over 800 m. Suspiro: One of Ecuador's best waves. A point break that breaks over a rock-reef sanded bottom with a full barreling first section, top to bottom barrels and is located in one of Ecuador's most beautiful areas, a real paradise in earth. Very hard to get to and it is called Ecuador’s best kept secret. Pipelines: A world class beach break, again top to bottom barrels in a deserted beach with no other surfers around than the buddies you are traveling with. Montanita: A very good world class right-hander with some heavy barrels at low tides
